PET FIRST AID

July 31st, 2009 by Dr. Donna Spector

The Denver Daily News reminded us the other day that their local Red Cross organization is now offering a “Pet First Aid” course designed to help pet owners be prepared for various emergencies that may arise with your dog or cat at home, in the neighborhood or while traveling. Visit Denver Daily – Learn pet health care to read the article.

The American Red Cross publishes reference guides to provide quick answers to questions about caring for family dogs and cats. These manuals, titled Dog First Aid and Cat First Aid can teach pet owners how to:

• Administer medications;
• Recognize an emergency;
• Perform CPR and first aid;
• Treat common problems and emergencies requiring immediate attention; and
• Stock a pet first aid kit

The manuals come with a DVD that features clear instructions on safety procedures, disaster preparedness and dealing with medical emergencies.

Enjoy the rest of your summer…safely!

LUKE FROM 2DOGS 2K MILES AND HALO ON DOG TALK RADIO

July 30th, 2009 by David Yaskulka

Tracie Hotchner – author of the Dog Bible and of the Cat Bible – asked us if we could send any Halo Liv-a-Littles treats to Luke from Two Dogs Two Thousand Miles to aid in his adventure against canine cancer. Of course we couldn’t refuse.

Tracie scheduled Luke for her popular show Dog Talk Radio, and Luke asked if someone from Halo could call in as well. I was only too happy to oblige. You can click here for a link to the audio.

OLD DOG GAINS NEW SPUNK BY EATING HALO

July 28th, 2009 by Diane Herbst

Echo, whose owner describes her as old, transformed once she started eating Spot’s Stew:

“I have to say, since switching Echo to Halo we’ve seem a dramatic difference in her,” writes Claire, 25, on her blog.

“As some of you know, she is a puppy mill rescue & shes been abused & is VERY skittish! I’ll say that more than one person has said ‘I think you’re wrong, she isn’t that old, she has ALOT of life left in her!’ since we’ve began Echo on Halo products.

“She is happier, has more energy & spunk & she actually smells better ( ohthankgod) I dont have enough time in a day to say all the good things I have to say about Halo & their amazing food for pets. If you have a pet that you care about I STRONGLY recommend you look for a local store, or order a trial package online.”

Thank you, Claire, for feeding Echo Halo!
