ELLEN CONCLUDES CAT WEEK WITH ADOPTION ADVICE

catweeklogo1Ellen decided to end Cat Week last week by doing something important. She is encouraging everyone to adopt a cat, and provided a list of organizations viewers can consult for help. Click here to see a list of the organizations nationwide.

Ellen showed an adorable picture of a cat from the Burbank Animal Shelter, which has 150 cats that need to be adopted right now. She also announced that “my pet food company” Halo is donating $5,000 to the Burbank shelter to help them along the way.

Dear Ellen: Thank you so much for the Halo cat food. I have a cat who was a “throw away” two years ago and has been quiet a handful. I have had cats all my life, but this new “throw away” kitten tested me. After a few weeks with him, I named him “Psycho Billy.” For starters, he tried to rip out the propane gas line to our fireplace. He would also stalk you and attack without warning. Most kittens love to be held, however the first time I held “Psycho” close to my head, he bit me. After a few visits to the vet, the people there renamed him to “Bipolar Billy.” I was about to give up on him and then I discovered “Spot Stew.” I don’t know what it is about Halo pet food, but it has changed “Bipolar Billy” into a very loving cat. Thank you, Ellen, for caring about pets. After all, they will NEVER disappoint you like people do!
