Right this minute, there are dogs getting deathly ill from eating chicken jerky treats made in China. This is a proven fact from multiple dogs showing signs of kidney failure from these products – although the exact cause of the illness is not yet known. At this point, the FDA has not called for an outright ban on these products.
I am reminded of the melamine contamination in many dry pet foods that began to be noticed in 2007, long before our government stepped in. It appears that yet again we have contaminated pet foods from China (it seems like a repeat of the pet food disasters when many pets were sickened and some died before our authorities stepped in and took charge of the situation).
Whatever warnings the FDA has issued about the danger of chicken jerky treats is not reaching all pet owners –and all the while, the possibly deadly treats remain available at stores and online.

this is very scarry for our fur babies and their families who love them… that is why i only feed halo to my beloved fur babies. as i have 7 babies that are loved and would have such a loss. i make my own veggie treats and feed halo can and dry only.this makes me so sad in 2007 my mother lost a wonderful dog that is missed and loved much to the recall. i just bout her a sweet chihuahua pup this oct and i set up an account and she orders halo only for the new kid.and, yes halo is good for chihuahua’s.as it is for my yorkie who is now 4 years old and i hand raised him on goats milk and weened him to puppy food halo now he’s a big boy on adult of course. but goats milk is really good when their isn’t moma dog around. and he is very healthy.wish all the pet food companies understood the love the pet parents have for their fur babies.safe food should be a demand stop all lies for money.
