The film follows the journey of two dogs from the streets, to their shelter experience, to their happy endings. Shelter Me shares the story of veterans, struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder, who credit their shelter dogs with saving their lives. And, the film goes into a women’s prison, where inmates train shelter dogs become service dogs for people with disabilities, vets and autistic kids.
