Los Angeles area residents and “Couch Potato” fundraisers everywhere—save the date! Saturday October 24, 2015, marks the 10th Anniversary of Race for the Rescues, the annual fundraising event for The Rescue Train, a non-profit, no-kill dog and cat res-cue in Los Angeles, California.
Halo Purely for Pets is the proud sponsor of radio talk show host and animal welfare advocate, Warren Eckstein’s broadcast of “The Pet Show”, live at the event from 9:00-11:00 AM. And Halo is excited to be working again with Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning actress, Jane Lynch, who is hosting this year’s Race for the Rescues.
This year’s day-long event boasts a 5K or 10K run/walk, a non-competitive “kids fun run” and a 1K dog walk to raise funds for 35 non-profit animal welfare groups in the Los Angeles area.
Other festivities include a silent auction, awards for top racers and fundraisers, dog and cat adoptions with a “Rockin’ Adoption Show” featuring city shelter animals, and a pet products expo, among other fun activities for animal lovers of all ages. There’s even a “race” just for couch potatoes to raise funds from the comfort of their own home.
