PETMD: HALO…GORDI IN THE CITY (WEEK 7)

January 11th, 2010 by David Yaskulka

paplanesWell, it’s almost time for PetMD Haute or Not celebrity Labrador Gordi’s charity cruise. And she sure sounds ready! Here’s what she’s saying in week seven of her Halo transition:

“The Doga, the meditation, the vitamins, the Dreamcoat, the everything — they all have me feeling so good inside that I feel like a young pup again … wow, was it only seven weeks ago since I started the Halo change? Who knew a simple meal change and some supplements would have so much of a domino effect on my entire life? Now, that I feel more comfortable in my own skin, I am able to relax and be myself rather than trying to pretend that I am beautiful. And let me tell you, darling, pretense is such a waste of energy. I just feel beautiful.”

Can’t wait to read week 8!

PETMD: HALO… AN OFFER YOU CANNOT REFUSE (WEEK 6)

January 5th, 2010 by David Yaskulka

biopic_corsa2Gordi, the real-life Labrador of Haute or Not columnist Rick Tamargo, continues on her fanciful journey. In week six of her transition to Halo, she’s become a Halo evangelist! From Rick’s column:

Then, upon closer inspection, his eyes widened. “Why, Gordi, you do look fabulous! Between the Halo and the exercise routines you’ve transformed. You’re absolutely brilliant.”

I smiled inwardly. Was I making headway? “Well,” I said coyly, “I’ve started a new way of living and it’s changed my life completely — just by changing my diet, Corsa … not that you need to change anything about your appearance—” Corsa waved his paw at me, “Oh, pshaw,” he said, “you know that I know that I need to lose at least a thousand pounds.”

I smiled again, this time outwardly. “Then, Corsa,” I said, “Halo and I have a plan for you too.”

I filled him in on the details of the meal and exercise plan I have been on the last several weeks…

PETMD: A THANKSGIVING SURVIVAL STORY (WEEK 5)

January 2nd, 2010 by David Yaskulka

gordishoppinghabit-2Hope you’ve been following this 8-week series on real-life Labrador Gordi’s transition to Halo (albeit in a fanciful first-person account). This week, Gordi fends off holiday temptations to stay on her Halo meal plan. And, “instead of following dinner with calorie-rich (and stunningly beautiful) desserts, I opted for my Halo Peanut ‘n Pumpkin biscuits.”

PETMD: HALO, IT’S 6 AM, WAKE UP, GORDI (WEEK 4)

December 30th, 2009 by David Yaskulka

gorditurban_blckCatch up with Haute or Not real-life celebrity Labrador’s transition to Halo. This week it gets a bit personal. According to Gordi, “And I feel beautiful inside too, like a lovely meadow is in full bloom right inside my belly.

Maybe it has something to do with my pre- and probiotic rich diet now. It’s like a magic forest of bacteria growing inside me.”

NATURALLY SAVVY GIVES HALO “SEAL OF APPROVAL”

December 26th, 2009 by David Yaskulka

natuallylogoNaturally Savvy, “Your Guide to Natural & Organic Living,” has written quite a bit about Pet Promise. With Pet Promise leaving the market, we’re thrilled that they reviewed Halo’s offerings. After telling the story of Andi Brown’s cat Spot and her original stew, here’s what they had to say.

“With ingredients like chicken, eggs, chicken liver and salmon in the bag of Spot’s Stew Wholesome Chicken recipe for adult dogs that we received, there was no doubt in my mind that Oscar would love his new food. The ingredients boast a healthy dose of vitamins, minerals, and trace nutrients that are vital for a healthy pooch, yet often overlooked by pet food manufacturers. The Liv-a-Littles 100% Chicken Breast Protein Treats provide a high-protein, low-carb snack your dog will love — and it’s healthy too! Oscar, our very own Furry Savvy Sampler, loved Halo’s dog food & treats, and we especially loved its clean ingredients.

“It’s clear that Halo’s first priority is the health and well-being of our pets: just read the label of any of their treats or foods and you’ll see a list of ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.”

We’re so honored they gave us the “Naturally Savvy Seal of Approval.”
