Trainers love Halo Liv-a-Littles treats because they know dogs will do anything for them. John Garcia, Best Friends Animal Society’s star trainer (of National Geographic hit show Dog Town fame), uses them when motivation is critical. Consumers voted them the top pet treat, and chefs did the same.
At home, our boxer boy Bert loves all varieties of Liv-a-Littles when getting his twice-daily injections, and our cat Sterling finds his way into the kitchen at medicine time, meowing for some Liv-a-Littles chicken. Sprinkling Dinner Party (which is just powder from Liv-a-Littles protein treats) on Sterling’s food turned around some serious eating issues for us.
But like all good things, there are risks. Halo friend (and former colleague) Stephanie Mayorga wrote me shortly after arriving back in her native North Carolina:
“I had to share this with you! Attached is a picture of what the love of Liv-A-Littles will do to a dog! On my departure from Halo, I made sure I had enough treats to keep my Golden Retriever Bry happy for a while at my new home in NC. Well me and my sister were on the back porch for a while this evening with my dog Bry and her dog Spencer in the house. There are still boxes everywhere from us just moving and the one box labeled dog had the treats with some other things in it. The dogs must be able to read because they broke the box open. When we walked into the house there were Liv-a-Littles jars spread everywhere. I had to take a picture of one of the jars and share it with you!”
Actually, I knew the story as soon as I saw Stephanie’s photo. Suffice to say we’ve had a couple of our own Liv-a-Littles-left-on-the-table incidents with Bert.
So please, keep out of reach of (4 legged) children!
