HALO DINNER PARTY HELPS POODLE LICK THE BOWL DRY

November 21st, 2009 by Halo

Image4Dear Halo:

I am so excited that I finally found something to get my Standard Poodle Beau to eat all of his dry dog food. Once a day, usually at dinner time, I mix wet Halo dog food with dry Halo. When there is wet food mixed in his food he licks the bowl dry. But In the morning it was becoming a challenge to get him to finish his dry only food. As most poodles, his weight is not an issue. On the other hand his sister, a 70 pound labradoodle it is the opposite. I do realize that Chula, my labradoodle doesn’t know that there is something different in Beau’s bowl, but I still prefer to feed them the same food. I tried Dinner Party Wild Salmon flavor because they both love Spot’s Stew Salmon flavor. Well…now Beau finishes his dry food in the morning and I am not worried about extra calories for Chula! It is easy to use…just sprinkle it over the food and there you go!

I am so pleased with all of the Halo products, including my two kitties that also love their Halo food!

Thanks!
Beth Levine

HALO HEALTHSOME TREATS REVIEWED ON AOL’S PAW NATION

November 20th, 2009 by David Yaskulka

Wow, it sure seems Paw Nation’s staff’s dogs loved our Halo Healthsome treats! Here’s (some of) what four different reviewers had to say:

“I don’t know whether Izzy, my Border Collie/Chow mix, noticed that the treats were healthy; I just know that she gobbled them up without a second thought, licking the floor to make sure she devoured up every last crumb.”

“My dog’s nose started wiggling the second I opened the package. I took a sniff inside the bag and could understand why. .. Luckily, the vegetarian dog treats are low-fat and made with a blend of beneficial ingredients. There is no corn, fillers, sugar or molasses.”

“Our mutt Mouse usually doesn’t go for healthy dog treats, so I was a little skeptical at first. … She was so into them that she scarfed down her treat and literally begged for more. … I’d say we have a winner here!”

“When it comes to snacks, my girl is a junk-food lover. She generally scoffs at the all-natural biscuits and goes right for the Milk-Bones….Daisy not only loved the [Halo] treats, she gobbled up the whole bag in a few minutes! …moved, and the stress of that has given Daisy a flare-up on her nose. I swear, the day after the Liv-a-Littles feast, her nose was looking much healthier — even without steroidal cream!”

PETMD STAR LABRADOR BEGINS FANCIFUL TRANSITION TO HALO

November 10th, 2009 by David Yaskulka

You just HAVE to read this column! Eight year old Gordi, invited to a charity cruise and soiree to the South Pacific, bemoans her “eight year old Labrador physique,” feeling she “had become an old girl.” But her best friend Happa, “an elegant Italian greyhound,” told Gordi the secret to her inner and outer beauty.

“Happa went on to tell me about an eating program he had switched to, after much frustration with foods that included unsavory fillers. The Pet Promise regimen had worked for a time, but because they were going out of business, Happa was in the process of switching over to the Halo menu.

“I thought Pet Promise was amazing,” he said. “But I’m feeling even better since I started Halo. I didn’t think life could get any better — but it has!”

Tune in to this 8-part series, a fanciful but reality-based account of Haute or Not columnist Rick Tamargo’s beloved Gordi’s transition to Halo. Under the supervision of Halo consulting veterinarian Dr. Donna Spector, the real-life Gordi has begun the transition to Halo Spot’s Stew (dry and wet), treats, supplements and grooming products. It’s can’t miss journalism!

HEALTHY COOKING COACH CHEF RACHEL RECOMMENDS HALO TREATS

September 16th, 2009 by David Yaskulka

Chef Rachel Albert-Matesz, author of The Garden of Eating: A Produce-Dominated Diet and Cookbook, wrote a long review of Halo products on her popular blog, The Healthy Cooking Coach. We’re thrilled that Chef Rachel made such statements as “Your pets are what they eat” and told her loyal readers to “Read the ingredient list for everything you buy for your pets. Can you identify the ingredients?…Does it contain ‘meal,’ wheat, gluten, soy or corn (all common allergens)? My suggestion: Choose products with the simplest and fewest ingredients as close to the way you’d find them in nature.”

Chef Rachel explains, “With the help of several great books on holistic pet care and the Internet, I’ve found some companies whose products I feel good about giving my girls (her two cats). After the product passes my ingredient test it has to pass their taste test, which isn’t always easy.”

We’re glad our Liv-a-Littles treats passed both tests, though Rachel had the worthy recommendation that Halo offer smaller-size protein treats specifically for cats. I’m happy to say our baked cat treat are in fact perfectly feline-sized. Sadly, Chef Rachel’s kitties wouldn’t eat their vegetables when they tried their Halo Spot’s Stew. Hey, sometimes it takes a while (same for my human kids). Chef Rachel also spoke highly of Halo grooming products.
