Snails. Hermit crabs. Hamsters. Fish. Cats. Dogs. You name it. More than likely, I probably had that pet before. For as long as I can remember, animals have been a part of my life.

Whether we had space in our home to accommodate the pet or not, I would make time to hang out with my furry friends. Sometimes that even meant going to the local shelter to help out for the afternoon.

When Halo, Purely for PetsĀ® said they were interested in doing a partnership with Wellcoin that encourages people to live healthier and help feed sheltered dogs and cats, I was overjoyed.

We kicked off this partnership September 30th on Wellcoin (read the press release) and now I want to invite you to join me there. Any time you run, walk, eat a healthy meal, or any of hundreds of healthy activities and log that on Wellcoin, you earn Wellcoins.

Earning 1,000 Wellcoins, an amount that can be earned by logging healthy activities for just a couple of days, can generate a donation of 10 meals. Up to 15,000 meals will be donated to feed hungry dogs and cats in shelters across the nation, including SPCA of Westchester County (Westchester, NY), Humane Society of Central Oregon (Bend, OR), San Francisco Animal Care and Control (San Francisco, CA), Arizona Animal Welfare League (Phoenix, AZ) or ASPCA (New York, NY).

The Wellcoin and Halo, Purely for PetsĀ® is a first-of-its-kind philanthropic partnership and gives those of us who are concerned about our own health and the health of our pets, a chance to give back to our furry friends and ourselves.

If you are not a member of Wellcoin, sign-up for a free account here or download the app in the Apple or Google Play Stores.
