Despite her cranky demeanor, a tuxedo cat named Page is a popular attraction at Book Buyers bookstore in Charlotte, N.C.
According to her Facebook page, Page tells customers, “I help guard Book Buyers and love receiving your adoration (from afar).”
The Book Buyers staff took Page in when she was just a kitten. They found her abandoned by a dumpster near the store.
Page apparently saw some potential in these humans so she allowed them to feed and pet her and provide a cozy bookstore in which to live. Perhaps they thought she’d be a warm and friendly addition to the staff.
However, she’s not exactly winning any customer service awards. A sign at the front of the store reads:
“Hi! My name is Page. I’m the store cat. I scratch and bite, please don’t touch or annoy me. (Or call me ‘fat’ or ask if I’m pregnant).”
Ah, well. At least she’s fun to observe doing typical cat-like things. She says her personal interests include: eating, sleeping, sleeping in boxes, ear rubs, sleeping on jackets, climbing ladders, sleeping on boxes, chasing after pencils, sleeping on bags.
